Students Commit to Quit Smoking

Musical group AfroFlow kicked off its 2010 national tour at Prairie View A&M University with a show for students and the community of Prairie View to help promote the American Cancer Society’s inaugural Relay For Life of Prairie View A&M set for April 23. The show features Hip-hop and spoken word recording artist, MIKE-E, along with soulful vocalist Kenny Watson, the world-traveled DJ Invisible, master drummer and percussionist Sowandé Keita and world class Senegalese bassist and singer Pathé Jassi. The AfroFlow tour was developed in collaboration with the American Cancer Society to engage youth, college students, young adults, and communities to save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays through non-conventional methods. MIKE-E and AfroFlow have successfully created an innovative, interactive live stage show that promotes cancer awareness, tobacco prevention, and cessation.
